Busy Girl's Time Saving Tips | I know the feeling of always being too busy and never truly getting anything done! You feel me? If you're struggling with finding time to get everything accomplished, check out these time saving tips! Click through to read!
Okay, so I KNOW that you are all about saving time! I mean, aren’t we all? To be honest though, when I read lists of time saving tips or watch videos about this topic on youtube…NONE of them really apply to me. As I think I’ve said before, I work rotating shift work at the moment, and my schedule is all over the place! Sometimes I just don’t have time to plan my next day out the night before or spend all day Sunday meal prepping. If you’re like me, not to worry! I’ve done the dirty work for you, and I’ve come up with 7 tips that I ACTUALLY USE on a daily basis to help keep things straight and save some time. (You can also check out my morning routine tips here!) These time saving tips may be a bit out of the box, and they may not all apply to you, but I bet you can find at least one that will work for your situation. Let’s do this!

1. Listen to podcasts/audiobooks in the car

I LOVE to read. Guess what I don’t have time to do? Read. LOL. I get my fix in the car on the way to work, on the way back from work, on the way to Ulta, on the way back from pizza, etc πŸ˜‰ If you’re not listening to something motivational in the form of personal development already, you really need to! It helps with tough situations and really shifts your mindset in the midst of a trial…and now you have time to do it! πŸ˜‰

2. Stop multitasking

I really don’t even think that multitasking exists. When I “multitask”, all I’m really doing is spreading myself thin across multiple tasks and applying mediocre effort to all of them. You feel me?? Instead, try doing things in batches. Instead of answering emails, meal prepping, doing squats, and walking the dog all at the same time…try focusing on one thing at a time. It will take you less time to do that one thing because it has ALL of your attention and effort. Then move on to the next task! I know it sounds weird and backwards, but I promise that it will save you time.

3. Catch up on youtube videos while you get ready in the morning or at night

Anyone else love to binge some youtube videos? I can spend hours upon hours watching makeup, what I eat in a day, and tiny house videos. What a time waster! Instead of doing this throughout the day and eating up precious minutes, I have started doing this when I’m getting ready for work and when I’m getting ready for bed. I just set my phone up on my dresser or above my sink, do my routine, and watch my videos! Win win. πŸ™‚

4. Utilize a timer

This is for those tasks that really sweep the time away! Think email answering that turns into Facebook scrolling or kitchen cleaning that turns into a full blown pantry clean out. Set a timer for some of the things that you do today, and when it goes off…you’re DONE. Be happy with what you got done, and move on girlfriend!

5. Prep ingredients for meals ahead of time

Β Nothing seems to take more time that the veggie chopping before you even get to making the recipe! Am I right? Try washing, chopping, and prepping your fruits and veggies for your upcoming recipes as soon as you get them home from the grocery store. Trust me, major time saver. (Check out more of my grocery + food prep tips here!)

6. Catch up on social media between sets at the gym

This one has been huge for me! I used to be constantly scrolling scrolling scrolling on social media all throughout the day. If I’m being honest, it’s still something that I struggle with, but this has helped a ton! Instead of scrolling, preparing content (if you have a business online), and posting your stuff all throughout the day…try getting a lot of it done during your rest time at the gym! Find a system that works for you, but give it a try! If you don’t go to the gym or this wouldn’t be possible for you, try getting some of that done during your bathroom time. Just keeping it real, girls! πŸ˜‰

7. Take 15 minutes to tidy up

You’re thinking, “But that takes time! It doesn’t save any!” I thought the same thing, don’t worry. But I’m here to tell you, it saves so much time, lovely! Spending those 15 minutes sometime in your day to tidy things up really saves a lot of frustration and time spent doing it later. When I let things pile up day after day, I end up having to take a whole day to clean up instead of the 15 minutes that I could have spent! Plus, it leaves more space in my brain for creative thoughts!
